Commodore's Corner

Greetings from the Commodore

This year has seen a lot of successes, and the members should be proud of their accomplishments.

First, many members voluntarily gave of their time and expertise to help the club deal with the damage inflicted by Hurricane Isabel.  By June, the general facilities, the boat spaces, the driveways and parking areas, and the docks and picnic shelters were ship-shape.

These efforts made our facilities much more convenient and enjoyable to use

Your efforts went a long way in providing a first class venue for our Day Sailer fleet to host the Day Sailer North American Championships, and we can be proud of our facilities

Another fine example of voluntary cooperation paying off in spades was the great success of our Sail Camp held in July.  This very important program promotes and supports the sport of sailing into the future and helps insure ongoing interest in the sport as well as in our club.
