Race Programs

In addition to all of the standard regattas tied to the major holidays of the sailing season, we are again working with Brandermill’s Sailing Club on some combined events.  This has been very enjoyable for all in the past and brings a nice variety to the Swift Creek Reservoir racing experience.

Help keep this function of our club alive and thriving by raising your hand to help. You don't need to be a racer yourself ... the committee will show you what to do. And if you ARE a racer, you really owe it to club and our racing program to give up a regatta now and volunteer for the sake of a healthy race program. Contact Bill and his committee to pitch in.

Whether you are an experienced racer or not, the committee is planning some special events to make things interesting.  These events are designed to introduce more novice sailors to the excitement of racing and give them an opportunity to get to know and sail with some of the club’s more experienced skippers.

Other Details

All regatta entrants will be charged a $5 racing fee per boat for adults, Free for juniors!

Please make sure you attend the skippers' meeting held before each race.  Important details are discussed during the meeting that could affect your racing experience.

Please be on time for the skippers' meeting and for the scheduled race start.  Often we can see 'traffic jams' at the boat ramps on race days so start early.  Keep in mind, you are allowed to put your boat in the water the day prior to the race.

It's an early start but we'll see how it goes.  The weather may be an issue for this one so please be sure to get in touch with a member of the race committee if you're in doubt.

Independence Day Regatta
Friday, July 4

Come one and all!  This is the way to spend the 4th of July!  Unfortunately, the weather has been stifling the past few years but keep an eye out.  In spite of the heat, the die-hards are always racing on the 4th.

Come prepared for heat, and keep in mind the refreshments waiting after the race.  The Independence Day social following the regatta is always the biggest event of the year.  Don't forget to come prepared to watch the long-distance fireworks display!
